Here is my first attempt to adding some information about Bester. This is a write-up taken directly off the back of an 8x10 picture/card of Bester from 1996:

HIGHLIGHTS/NOTES: Entering his 13th professional season...only four of the 125 goaltenders currently in hockey have played as many games...selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the third round (48th overall) in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft...was the first goaltender selected that year...started 25 consecutive games as a 19-year old, putting him amoung the leaders in that category...named IHL Player-of-the-Month for November 1994 as a member of the San Diego Gulls (now the L.A. Ice Dogs)...posted a 8-1-0 mark, 2.25 GAA, and a .933 save percentage...won seven straight decisions in November...selected to the 1994 Western Conference All-Star squad...was the winning goaltender during the 1994 IHL All-Star Game in Las Vegas.

PERSONAL: Favourite hockey memory is being named Calder Cup Playoff MVP...all-time hockey hero is Ken Dryden...started playing hockey when he was nine years old...favourite food is pasta and favourite music is country...interests include tennis, squash and computers...he and his wife have two daughters.
